Progress Progress Everywhere
All of a sudden, it seems like I have so much to report on how my little guys (and me) are doing. It sorta makes sense to post it all in one place. One disclaimer, Jack’s progress is about potty training, so if you don’t want to read about, skip the first section!

So I haven’t mentioned potty training in a while. In fact I think the last time I mentioned it, Jack still wasn’t using the potty at home. Well, I’m thisclose to saying he is potty trained! We have (mostly) graduated to real underwear. He will start wearing them to school tomorrow and he’s been wearing them at home for over a week with no accidents! I’m still a little nervous about taking him out of the house without a pull up. We went to the grocery store the other day with no problem, but longer outings still make me nervous. We are going to a party on Saturday. I might give it a try then. We’ll see.
We really turned a corner when I decided to break out the real underwear. He is so excited to be wearing “undies” as he calls them. I had some Thomas the Train underwear. I showed them to Jack and we talked about how you don’t pee or poop on Thomas and that seemed to do the trick. We are still working on Jack actually asking to go potty. He does sometimes, but often we are the ones prompting him to go. And in all honesty, the fact that he’s wearing real underwear keeps us from being more lax on the potty breaks. Oh and I really can’t think of anything cuter than a little boy wearing teeny, tiny little underwear. (I would post picture but he and his father would probably kill me)

A few weeks ago, I posted about wanting to lose about 10 pounds. I wanted to exercise more and eat better. Well, I’ve lost 3 pounds and tomorrow I start week 4 of Couch to 5K. I’m eating much better too. Except for nights that I exercise, I have cut out after dinner snacks (which were a HUGE problem for me) and I’m either taking my lunch or buying a healthy salad (with just a hint of fat free dressing). I am exercising 4 days a week. And most of all, I am feeling great! My clothes are starting to get loose. About 6 weeks ago, I bought a dress without trying it on. When I got home, I was sad to discover it didn’t fit. Well now it does! I have 7lbs to go (although I may up my goal to a total of 15lbs), but it’s not just about losing weight. I want to be healthier and the way to do that is keep eating right and exercising.

A few moths ago, I expressed some slight concern that Xander wasn’t really self-feeding. Um, yeah, well.

Nom, Nom, Nom! Me LOVE pizza!
He at the WHOLE piece! Which is far more than Jack ate for dinner. Xander is doing pretty good with finger foods. He gladly feeds himself almost everything we put in front of him. Our only issue now is that he gets impatient (or maybe tired or lazy??) and after eating a while, he still wants us to feed him. Which of course I give into (What? He’s my baby!). So while we still need to work on him feeding himself pretty much his whole meal, I’m happy to say that he will NOT be eating purees until he is 12 like I once feared.

Yay Jack! and Yay, Xander!
(Amy. How are our kids getting so big? Whaaaa!!!)
I have no idea! Xander’s birthday is in just over 3 weeks away! I can’t believe it!
Now that I can move my back, I’m hoping to start exercising again too. Hoping!
I’m so glad your back is finally getting better!
Yay for the weight loss! Yay for the potty training! Yay for babies who eat more than their older siblings! (We’ve got one of those too. LOL)
