Eight Months

Ok, so yes, Xander turned 8 months yesterday and I’m just now getting around to writing this post.  Call it second child syndrome if you want.  I’ll call it “Mommy is in the middle of a good book.”

So where were we?  Ah, yes, 8 months.  It’s hard to believe that 8 months ago I was laying in a hospital bed mesmerized by this little face.

I can’t believe how Xander has grown in 8 short months.  He’s working on crawling.  He gets on all fours and rocks back and forth.  He does the backwards army crawl and when he’s on the hardwood floor, he can slide himself around pretty easily.  Just look at him!

Xander can now push himself into a sitting position.  He also claps and waves.  But only when he feels like it.  Don’t try to get my stubborn little man to do anything that he doesn’t want to do.

Speaking of stubborn, Mr I Put Everything In My Mouth absolutely refuses to put food in his mouth.  Put food on his tray and he just plays with it.  Put any type of finger food in his mouth and he gives you a look like you are poisoning  him.  Oh, and if you eat in front of him, he looks at you like you are depriving him.  Bacon, pizza, cheerios, cheese, broccoli.  You name and he gives a look like he WANTS to eat it.  Give him a cheerio or some super steamed broccoli and he spits it out.  I’m pretty sure that he will be eating purees until he is 12.

Xander continues to be completely enthralled with all things Jack.  He would spend hours watching his brother’s shenanigans.  I’m in so much trouble when those two start teaming up and creating trouble together.

I can’t believe that in four short months there is going to be a one year old and a three year old in my house!

So stinkin’ cute! What is up with these 2nd babies? Gracie had an alien gag reflex and was eating puree well after a year. Spaghetti still gives her issues. :)

And I must ask – which book???

  2. Amy says:

Katie – I’m reading Eve by Iris Johansen. I’ve read the series for years. Excellent books.
